CBAM & export compliance

Since 1 January 2026 the EU CBAM is in its definitive phase. Your EU importers must account for the embedded emissions in cement, iron & steel, aluminium, fertiliser, hydrogen and electricity — and they need verified installation data from you to avoid default values.

How the engagement runs

  1. Stage 01

    Scoping

We confirm which obligations actually apply to you — customer requests, export markets, certifications and disclosure deadlines — and map the data you already hold.

  2. Stage 02

    Measurement

Company-level and product-level footprints built from energy, fuel, production and supplier data, with every assumption logged.

  3. Stage 03

    Strategy

Reduction options ranked by abatement cost and operational fit, plus the sourcing and circularity levers that strengthen your commercial position.

  4. Stage 04

    Delivery & support

Disclosure packs, customer-ready footprint statements, export submissions and audit support — refreshed every reporting cycle.

Questions

We are the exporter, not the importer — does CBAM apply to us?+

The legal obligation sits with the EU importer, but they depend on your installation data. Without it they pay on punitive default values — which quickly becomes a pricing and supplier-selection issue for you.

What if we export small volumes?+

Importers below the annual 50-tonne threshold are exempt, but most of your EU customers will be above it in aggregate. We confirm your exposure in the scoping stage.

Tell us your sector, your markets and your deadlines. We’ll tell you what is realistic before you commit to anything.
